Our drive-in blackout studio is available to hire. You don't have to shoot a car here, it's pretty good for almost anything.

Most of the space is given over to our grey three-sided cove with its white floating ceiling. You can also shoot from the back of the cove against black drapes, or across the space to our Expan background paper roll system. High key, low key, flash or continuous lighting – swap around efficiently and usually quite speedily.

You can hire just the space if you like or go for the full package and we'll give you as much or as little help as you need. We can come up with lighting set-ups for you or arrange to your instructions, set the camera up and run the workstation, or just make the tea and order in the food. When it's all done we can batch process and back up your files and even prepare working files if you'd like to see some options.

Stills or video?

All the above assumes you're shooting still images. Our background is almost exclusively editorial stills photography and we've yet to set foot on the long, exciting video road. That said we do have a Canon 5D2 with 24-105L and we've been using continuous lighting for the four years we've been here, so if you have a project you'd like to test we'd be interested to hear about it.

Studio working space:

As a rough guide, with plenty of room to spare there is space to shoot full-length portraits at 85mm (and up to 135mm); car 3/4 angle at 50mm (and up to 85mm) (35mm format focal lengths).
